Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team enter areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This means them few options but to journey toward the remote area in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Questers and Schemers tables.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
